FIRST YEAR REP CANDIDATES
Sharlet Al-Zeebare - She/Her
Hey Dragons! My name is Sharlet Al-Zeebare and I am a first year Biomedical Science student. During O-Week earlier this fall, I was impressed by the highly energetic peer mentors of Bethune College and I was inspired to get involved with the council as soon as the opportunity arises. Now, I am beyond excited to be running for the BCC first-year rep! I plan to use my experiences and skills as a previous president of multiple school clubs to make this year exceptional, especially for my fellow first-year students!
Ilham Fahim - He/Him
What's good everyone! My name's Ilham Fahim, a first year engineering student who (fingers crossed) hopes to pursue mechanical engineering. I come from Saudi Arabia, but born a Sri Lankan. Organize and help run events, communicate with the first-year student body to resolve problems and cater to everyones feedback are just a few things I'd so enthusiastically do as Bethune's first year representitive. I do have quite a sizable amount of experience in event organization and leadership, you could go so far as to say it's a passion of mine, or at least thats what I tell myself haha. But I can assure you, I'll do a fantastic job of whatever I'm thrown, so I'd be honored to have your vote. A vote for Ilham is a vote for everyone :)
Danielle Mugangu - She/Her
Hey everyone, I’m Danielle , a first year biomedical sciences major running for first year rep for Bethune College council and some of my hobbies are cooking ,singing and hiking I also believe a have good communication skills and make sure people around me have a good time and great company.
Daniella Muntunemuine - She/Her
Hi everyone, I’m Daniella. I’m a first year biomedical science student. I am relatable, funny, friendly and I love people. My goal is to ensure that students feel included and valued and supported and above all I know that university life can be a whirlwind of stress, deadlines, and late-night study sessions fueled by way too much coffee. But that’s exactly why I want to be your first year representative ! I’m here to help make things a little easier, a little lighter, and maybe even a little more fun. Need someone to speak up about the workload? Done. Want more chill events to balance out the chaos? I’m on it. I’m here for a good time and to make sure your voices are heard—because we’re all in this together, and it doesn’t have to be that hard. Vote for me, and let’s make this year a little less stress and a lot more success!
Sage Smith Poile - He/Him
Hello, my name is Sage and I'd like to be your voice on the Bethune college council. I'm an enthusiastic 18 year old who loves birds, music and space, and after playing the violin for the past 12 years and the viola for the past 4, I know what it means to make a commitment. A vote for me is a vote that ensures a first year rep who is ready to engage with the Bethune community and advocate for you.
Balina Sookram - She/Her
Hi everyone! I'm Balina Sookram and I'm excited to be running as your first year representative. I hope to make our first year memorable. I'm committed to ensuring that every voice is heard and that we build a strong, supportive community. I plan to advocate for your needs and keep an open line of communication so we can thrive together.
LASSONDE REP CANDIDATES
Ghina Dhiyaa - She/Her
Hi Dragons, my name is Ghina Dhiyaa! I’m in my third year of Computer Science here at York and I’m super excited to be running for Lassonde Representative!
Tariq Salim - He/Him
What’s up everybody!! My name’s Tariq my pronouns are He/Him, and I’m in my 5th year Electrical Engineering. I’ve been involved in both Lassonde and Bethune communities for a couple years through WeekZero, LES and intramurals. I want to help bridge the gap between Lassonde and Bethune through staying active in both communities! I’m a HUGE fan of Formula 1 and a fun fact about me is that I’m a mix of 4 different nationalities!
Mohammad Waliduddin - He/Him
Hey! I’m Walid, a third-year Software Engineering co-op student at Lassonde, and I’m running for Lassonde Rep because I want to bring us closer to the Bethune community. I know a lot of us feel disconnected or like we’re just grinding through without much of a campus life. My goal is to change that by creating more ways for us to hang out, collaborate, and actually feel like a part of the college. Let’s build a Lassonde experience where we’re not just classmates but a real community that supports and engages with each other!
